Moka Bialetti Reproductions in Various Materials
From an essay I wrote about this project:
“Somehow I already knew what a moka pot looked like before I ever owned one. More so, I feel like I knew what it looked like before ever seeing one. It’s an item that doesn’t ask for attention, but when attention is paid, its interesting, entertaining, and even slightly unusual. It’s comforting to have around and equally comforting to use. Through the coffee it makes and the object’s originality, it brings people together and initiates conversation; Even if the conversation is just two people bickering about how to make the best moka, something about having such passion behind an object reminds me of being human. And this human quality of objects must make them Super Normal.”
